Summer Reading ProgramBe Creative @ Your Library!Sign up - http://www.uhls.org/brunswick/SummerReading/ Register online for the 2009 Summer Reading Program! Set a goal of number of minutes spent reading. Listening to recorded books or being read to counts, too. Meet your goal and then celebrate at our End of Summer Party, featuring food, entertainment, and fabulous prizes. For every 15 minutes you read, you'll earn a raffle ticket, giving you a chance to win a fabulous prize basket. Earn more tickets by attending programs. July 9, Thursday, 12:30 - Society for Creative Anachronism - find out how knights actually fought! July 23, Thursday, 12:30 - Sail down a Tissue Paper River Collage in a Birchbark Canoe, all of your own making, with the Tang Teaching Museum. July 30, Thursday, 12:30 - Edible Dinosaur - nutrition program for all ages from Cornell Cooperative Extension August 6, Thursday, 11:00 - Reading with Rowdy August 12, Wednesday, 11:00 - End of Summer Party at the Brunswick Community Center, featuring the Leapin' Lizards from the Children's Museum of Science and Technology! With a dazzling display of ventriloquism, music, and magic. Those who have achieved their Summer Reading Goal will receive their certificate and other rewards. Refreshments will be served! Tween and Teen Movie NightJuly 8th, Wed., 6:00 pm - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix August 5th, Wed., 6:00 pm - Twilight Come in costume, enjoy themed refreshments, and compete in trivia contests. |
