How To Find Us
We
are located at 605 Brunswick Road, at the corner of Moonlawn Road, in
a small, white historic building with a distinctive
cupola. One easy way to find the library is to drive east on Route 2,
which turns into Brunswick Road. If you are coming from Route 7 east-bound,
turn right on to McChesney Avenue, the first right after Price Chopper,
then turn right on to McChesney Avenue Extension, at the Sugar Hill sign,
until McChesney ends at Moonlawn, then turn right (south)--you will be
less than half a mile from the Library. When you reach Route 2 the Library
is on your right. If you get lost, call us at 518-279-4023.
We also hold programs in the Brunswick Family Community Center, and at the Tamarac (Brittonkill) Central Schools. Directions to these facilities are here.
Our Services
Our library services include public Internet access, a small but highly current popular-reading collection (including audio books), many children's books, a revolving collection of current video tapes, and programs for adults and children alike.
We support requests for books from other libraries (interlibrary loan) and we will answer general information questions or refer the question to another library. We have a computer dedicated to Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) use - what in past times was a card catalog, and a computer for patron use for accessing the internet and word processing.
We are a processing agency for United States passports.
Brunswick Community Library is Awarded our Absolute Charter
On April 23, 2002 the New York State Education Department, Board of Regents formally voted to grant an Absolute Charter to the Brunswick Community Library. Our Library is deemed to meet all the NY State Requirements of a full service library. This is a permanent designation.
