About the Website

This site is hosted by NetHeaven (http://www.netheaven.com/). It was initially designed by Karen Schneider using FrontPage. Joe Makowiec took over maintenance of the site, and migrated it to N++. (Okay, he cleaned out all the bad FrontPage code by hand, and continued maintaining it by hand. N++ is nothing less or more than Notepad.) He presently uses Dreamweaver/Fireworks Suite from Macromedia, his web development tool of choice, with a little hand tweaking. Macromedia is no more since its purchase by Adobe in 2005.

You can see some of the history of this site at the Wayback Machine.

The World Wide Web Consortium (w3c) registers standards for (among others) HTML and Style Sheets (CSS). The site is HTML 4.01 Transitional compliant. What this means is that with correctly written HTML, a site should render correctly on most if not all browsers.
