The Upper Hudson Library System recently added three new resources for its patrons: Ancestry, Heritage Quest, and Mango.

Ancestry is one of the most important genealogical collections available today. It contains thousands of databases and billions of names. Ancestry Library Edition provides unparalleled coverage of the United States and the United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada and other areas. This database is available for in-library use only.

Heritage Quest is a comprehensive treasury of American genealogical sources rich in unique primary sources, local and family histories, and finding aids. The collection consists of six core data sets: U.S. Federal Censuses, Genealogy and local history books, Periodical Source Index (PERSI), Revolutionary War records, Freedman’s Bank Records and LexisNexis U.S. Serial Set. You can use this from home by entering your library card number. This database can be used from home, or in the library.

Mango is an online language-learning system that teaches actual conversation skills for a wide variety of languages, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). It is fun, and easy to use. This database can be used from home, or in the library.
