Summer Reading Program-Fizz, Boom, Read!

Reading is an important skill that will help your child in school and in life. Any kind of reading counts – comic books, magazines, picture books, chapter books, eBooks too! There are a lot of activities scheduled this summer for our young readers. Children from preschool to teen are invited to join up and keep track of their summer reading.  There will be special visits from the Scotia-Glenville Traveling Museum, the Tang Teaching Museum and South Paw. Prizes will be awarded at the Farewell to Summer Party! All programs are held at the library and start at 3:30pm except where indicated. Events include:

Jul 3 – Cool Science, Ice Cream Sodas!

Jul 11 – Fizz, Boom, Experiment!

Jul 17 – Make an Alien Space Craft!

Jul 22 (Tuesday 2:00pm) - Bubble Trouble! at the Poestenkill Fire House

Jul 24 – Make a Creepy Bug!

Jul 31 (10:30am) - Meet TriCity Valleycats mascot South Paw!

Aug 1 – Sounds All Around!

Digital Books–How to Borrow them from the Library

Do you have a new Kindle, Nook or other e-Reader? Come and learn more about eBooks, eReaders, and how you can check out digital books, audiobooks and movies from the library. Join us on Tuesday, January 24th at 6:00 pm, when Jo-Ann Benedetti of the Upper Hudson Library System explains it all, and introduces us to the digital reading world.
